CANYONS HAS PLENTY OF LEG WORK TOMPKINS GETS HIS KICKS THANKS TO PROLIFIC OFFENSE.Byline: Gideon Rubin Staff Writer VALENCIA - Jason Tompkins wouldn't have lasted a day at his new job if he didn't like to stay busy. A freshman placekicker for the College of the Canyons College of the Canyons is one of the fastest-growing community colleges in the state. Tompkins has made the most of his opportunities, converting 44 of 45 PATs, and he is 7 for 17 on field-goal attempts, two of which were blocked. ``I love it,'' Tompkins said. ``I don't even get a chance to warm up half the time. I start to warm up as soon as we get to midfield, but we score on two plays all the time. We score on 70-yard touchdowns constantly, so I'm never warmed up.''
