Its membership includes most public and private high schools in Orange, Los Angeles, Riverside, San Bernardino, Ventura, Santa Barbara, announced its football honors. Junior running back J.J. Leary and DiLuigi were among four Canyon players - and six from the Foothill League - selected to the All-Southern Section team, which includes players from all 13 11-man divisions. Twenty Foothill Leaguers were chosen for the All-Div. II team. The Foothill League team provided three of four Div. II semifinalists. Leary and linebacker Troy Hawkins were first-team defense selections on the All-Section team, and Hart receiver Troy Yudin was a first-team offense pick. DiLuigi, Canyon receiver Richie Wirthlin and Hart offensive lineman Jackson Smith were second-team offensive players. DiLuigi rushed for 1,870 yards and scored 43 touchdowns for Canyon, and Civita passed for 2,732 yards and 25 touchdowns. Brown and Leary were honored for leading a defensive unit that surrendered only 13 points per game. Other Canyon players on the All-Div. II team were Hawkins, Wirthlin, offensive lineman Nick Madia, defensive back Chris Kingsbury and defensive lineman Wilfred Aka. Runner-up Hart placed six players on the Div. II team (Yudin, Smith, offensive lineman Ricky Bittello, defensive backs Robbie Casselberry and James Wheeler, and linebacker Patrick Sarkissian), and semifinalist sem·i·fi·nal n. 1.
