CANYON COUNTRY -- It was a record-setting night for Canyon High of Canyon Country, who set a school record for points Friday in a 90-0 Foothill League destruction of visiting Golden Valley of Santa Clarita Santa Clarita, city (1990 pop. 110,642), Los Angeles co., S Calif., suburb 30 mi (48 km) NW of downtown Los Angeles, on the Santa Clara River; inc. 1987. Situated in the Santa Clara valley and nearby canyons, Santa Clarita includes the former towns of Canyon Country, .

The Cowboys (5-2 overall, 2-0 Foothill), the Daily News' No. 3 team, tied the record set in 1989 against Santa Monica Santa Monica (săn`tə mŏn`ĭkə), city (1990 pop. 86,905), Los Angeles co., S Calif., on Santa Monica Bay; inc. 1886. Canyon opened up a 70-0 halftime lead. It is tied for the sixth highest- scoring half in state history and is No. 2 in the area, behind the 74 posted by Vasquez of Acton in an 86-0 rout of Frazier Mountain Frazier Mountain is a mountain (or peak) that is located near Frazier Park, California and Lake of the Woods, California to the north. Frazier Mountain is 8,026 feet (2446 m)  of Lebec in 1999.

Kenny Suber pushed Canyon to a new school record, racing 12 yards with a fumble recovery as Canyon opened a 77-0 third-quarter advantage.

J.J. DiLuigi scored four of Canyon's 10 first-half touchdowns, on runs of 2, 28, 40 and 26 yards. DiLuigi rushed just seven times for 143 yards.
