CANYON RANCH IN TUCSON NAMED 'BEST SPA'
BY READERS OF CONDE NAST TRAVELER MAGAZINE
World-renowned Health and Fitness Resort No. 1
 Vacation Destination of the '90s
TUCSON, Ariz., Sept. 22 /PRNewswire/ -- Canyon Ranch Health and Fitness Resort in Tucson has been named "Best Spa" by the readers of Conde Nast Traveler in the magazine's 1992 Readers' Choice Awards.
This is the second time Canyon Ranch in Tucson has won the "Best Spa" Award. The first time was in 1990, the year the prestigious national travel magazine added the "Best Spa" category to its Readers' Choice Awards. Canyon Ranch's sister facility, Canyon Ranch in the Berkshires, located in Lenox, Mass., received the honor in 1991 -- making Canyon Ranch the only winner of the "Best Spa" award.
"Naturally, we're delighted to receive this award, which clearly identifies Canyon Ranch as a popular vacation destination choice of the 1990s" said Mel Zuckerman, founder and owner of Canyon Ranch in Tucson, and Canyon Ranch in the Berkshires.
Zuckerman continued, "This award reinforces our commitment to providing a comprehensive health, fitness and lifestyle vacation destination for people who understand the importance of taking time out to relax and rejuvenate one's mind, body and spirit. Equally important, is the significant health information and inspiration our guests take home with them which allows them to assume personal responsibility for their own well-being and experience a healthy, happy, active lifestyle for years to come."
The Conde Nast Traveler 1992 Readers' Choice Awards were announced on Sept. 20, during the American Society of Travel Agents (ASTA) 62nd World Travel Conference in Cairo, Egypt. The award was accepted by Canyon Ranch's National Sales Director Roxanne Housley, who noted: "Winning this prestigious award three consecutive times is a tribute not only to our guests and their belief in Canyon Ranch, but also to our staff for their dedication to the Canyon Ranch mission."
The Conde Nast Traveler 1992 Readers' Choice Awards will appear in the magazine's October 1992 issue, which hit newsstands on Sept. 20.
Canyon Ranch in Tucson and Canyon Ranch in the Berkshires, in Lenox, are the nation's premier coed health and fitness resorts. Canyon Ranch offers guests a comprehensive health, fitness and lifestyle vacation, experienced in a rejuvenating atmosphere with ultra-modern spa and exercise facilities, world-class accomodations and nutritionally balanced gourmet dining, as well as a full range of preventative medicine and behavioral health consultations and services.
