CANYON HIGH WILL DEFEND TOP-BAND TITLE.Byline: Daily News Staff Writer Canyon High School's marching band and pageantry performers, competing as the Gold Star Brigade, will return today to Palmdale to defend their two-time first-place title. The Brigade opened its 1996 band-competition season last week by earning first place at the South Bay Invitational Field Tournament and has been practicing daily to maintain top honors in today's contest. In the South Bay tournament, 18 bands competed in four divisions at El Camino College El Camino College is a two-year public community college located in the city of Torrance in Los Angeles County, California.
