CANYON HIGH TO ACCEPT E-WASTE.

SANTA CLARITA Santa Clarita, city (1990 pop. 110,642), Los Angeles co., S Calif., suburb 30 mi (48 km) NW of downtown Los Angeles, on the Santa Clara River; inc. 1987. Situated in the Santa Clara valley and nearby canyons, Santa Clarita includes the former towns of Canyon Country,  -- Technology has created a whole new kind of trash -- the kind that is hazardous when dumped in landfills -- but it can be left Saturday at Canyon High.

The campus is serving as a free collection spot for electronic waste. Old computers, monitors, printers, televisions, VCRs and other obsolete e-waste can be dropped off from 6a.m. to 7p.m. on campus, 19300 W. Nadal St., Canyon Country.

Fresno-based Electronic Recyclers will pick up the waste in this fundraiser for Canyon's cheer and song programs.

At the same time, the city of Santa Clarita continues its free curbside curb·side
