Staff Writer CANYON COUNTRY -- A new junior high and high school are on the horizon for eastern Canyon Country. Amid tire shops and abandoned tract homes, two newly acquired parcels of land will house the new schools for the Hart Union High School District. ``We want to create these schools as partner schools so students can travel on to that high school and build that culture of community,'' said Rob Gapper, the district's chief operations officer. The schools are not expected to open until 2014 to 2017, but with College of the Canyons College of the Canyons is one of the fastest-growing community colleges in the state. According to the National Junior College Research Association, College of the Canyons consistently ranks in the top 50 community colleges in the nation. setting up its east campus there, Gapper said the district expects major growth in that area.
