CANOGA PARK GETS DOWN TO BUSINESS WINBORN HURT, RUSHES FOR 93 CANOGA PARK 38, GRANT 7.Byline: LEE BARNATHAN Special to the Daily News CANOGA PARK -- It wasn't a surprise to anyone who follows Sunset Six League football that Canoga Park's strategy to beat Grant of Van Nuys was to keep Fred Winborn out of action. He later found Eddie Jaime for a 23-yard touchdown, and completed 12 of 18 passes for 193 yards. Martinez, meanwhile, looked more like Winborn, cutting and bouncing off tackles en route to 107 rushing yards on 15 carries. He also intercepted a pass. < Winborn ran 22 times for a season-low 93 yards, with only three carries for more than 10 yards -- including a 27-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter -- for Grant (6-2, 2-2). ``Horrible game,'' Winborn said. ``To me, I don't think I was running like I could run, but I won't use that as an excuse. Without Winborn, it was up to Grant quarterback Armando Orozco to make up the difference, and the junior completed just 3 of 18 passes with an interception for 30 yards. He also wasn't helped by five illegal-motion penalties by the offensive line and several dropped passes. ``(Winborn's) the only one who could beat us,'' Eddy said. Despite its large margin of victory, Canoga Park fumbled six times, losing four of them. Martinez fumbled four times, losing two, and said he knows he will have to hold onto the ball better next week.
