 CANNON TO RESUME POSITION AS CEO OF GENEVA STEEL
 NEW YORK, Sept. 10 /PRNewswire/ -- Geneva Steel (NYSE: GNV)


announced today that its chairman, Joseph A. Cannon, will resume his former position as chief executive officer of the company effective Oct. 1, 1992. Cannon resigned as chief executive officer in July 1991 to pursue a bid for the U.S. Senate.
 "I am enthusiastic about getting back in the harness at Geneva and working with people for whom I have great affection," Cannon said.
 The company also announced Robert J. Grow will continue in his position as president and chief operating officer. In addition, James T. Young will return from a leave of absence to resume his duties as vice president of corporate communications.
 Geneva Steel is the only integrated steel mill operating west of the Mississippi River. The company manufactures hot-rolled steel sheet, plate and pipe for sale primarily in the Western and Central United States.
