CANCER VICTIM GETS SECOND CHANCE THANKS TO CENTER.Byline: TRACY ZABORAC Community Columnist When doctors told Lynn Trahan in 1982 that the only way to save her life was to perform a mastectomy mastectomy (măstĕk`təmē), surgical removal of breast tissue, usually done as treatment for breast cancer. Cancer-free to this day, the Woodland Hills resident gives back to JWCI, and to various charities, by performing in a volunteer Valley-based organization called the New Horizon Singers. The New Horizon Singers, an 80-voice choir, will sing tonight in ``An American Songbook,'' a concert at the Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza The Thousand Oaks Civic Arts Plaza is a performing arts and administrative center located in Thousand Oaks, California.
