Yobs had broken into a guest's car and thrown a hammer through the window. Phoebe, who was on the sofa, was covered with glass. She offered to give the money given to her for her communion to pay for a new window and a new cake." She picked her communion dress and wore an adapted head dress as she lost her hair through chemotherapy. Diagnosed with leukaemia last summer, she is half way through a two-year course of chemotherapy which has left her weak and bald. There is an 80% survival rate with Phoebe's form of leukaemia, but she is now undergoing a second bout of chemotherapy, which is the most life-threatening.
