Fellow board members were shocked and saddened by the loss of the trustee who, for 14 years, had served the 12,000-student Las Virgenes Unified School District Las Virgenes Unified School District (LVUSD) is a K-12 school district in north-west Los Angeles County, USA consisting of 14 public schools in the cities of Agoura Hills, Calabasas, Westlake Village, and several small portions of the West Hills section of Los Angeles.  that includes the communities of Calabasas, Agoura Hills and parts of Westlake Village.

``Parents or students who had a problem could always count on her,'' said board member Judy Jordan, who had served with Bowman-Fagelson for three terms. ``I really will miss her very much. . . . ``We shall miss her greatly,'' Superintendent John F. Fitzpatrick John F. She also worked to help students who weren't making the grade by supporting tutoring programs, Jordan said.

``We're very shocked by her passing,'' said Jordan. ``I feel the parents and the students in the district have lost a very strong advocate.''
