RESOURCE CONFIRMATION PROGRAM

The Company is pleased to report that the drilling of the initial large diameter, deep geothermal well (G-5) is proceeding as planned and is expected to be completed by early June. This will be followed by a three month flow testing program, during which time data will be gathered to develop a reservoir model that will determine how further development drilling programs will be designed.

The well, west of No Good Creek, is being drilled vertically to a depth of about 1300 metres then angled towards Meager Mountain to two target zones, at depths of about 2400 metres and about 3450 metres.

The exploration drilling program has been designed to confirm assumptions that Pacific GeoPower (PGP) (a joint venture between Canadian Crew Energy Corp. and Guy F. Atkinson Holdings) has made about the temperature, flow rates, geological structure, and other aspects of the geothermal resource. Approximately 30 people are working at the drilling site and living in a temporary camp located on the existing pad between No Good and Angel Creeks.

PGP BID TO SUPPLY ELECTRICITY TO B.C. HYDRO

As previously reported, PGP has responded to B.C. Hydro's request for proposals (RFP) to acquire 200-300MW of electricity from the private sector. Of the 48 companies which responded to the RFP, the majority of proposals were for natural gas fired projects and PGP submitted the only geothermal proposal - for 63.5MW. This capacity would generate 554GWh of energy per annum, enough for 55,000 homes.

Cost-per-kilowatt hour will be a key factor in B.C. Hydro's selection of suppliers; however, social factors as well as technical and financial risks will influence the decision. This process is called Multiple Account Evaluation and takes financial costs, social costs (costs or benefits to society) and non-monetized factors into consideration.

PRELIMINARY PLANT DESIGN

PGP is pursuing an agreement with Exergy Inc., for the use of its patented Kalina cycle system which has the potential to be more efficient than existing geothermal facilities. PGP is proceeding with preliminary engineering based on this system.

In addition, PGP is conducting preliminary technical studies on transmission lines and structures in preparation for the route selection process.

PUBLIC CONSULTATION AND COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT

The public consultation program was initiated more than two years ago and 1994 saw the formation of the Community Advisory Committee, made up of people from the community, different government agencies and PGP. The Committee has become the focal point for distribution of information and review of concerns arising from within the community. PGP has placed significant emphasis on community involvement as it is the belief of the joint venture that success of the project is dependent upon a responsible attitude within the community.

THE MEAGER GEOTHERMAL PROJECT

The South Meager geothermal project is Canada's first such project.

Geothermal energy is widely accepted as it has a net positive impact on the environment when selected as an alternative to other conventional resources. With current environmental awareness and the need to move toward renewable and sustainable resources, geothermal energy has become attractive to utilities and customers.
