CANADA'S LEADING CUSTOMS BROKER TO OFFER CUSTOMS CLEARANCE SERVICE IN THE U.S.A.

 TORONTO, Feb. 1 /PRNewswire/ -- For more than fifty years, Livingston International Inc. has expedited customs clearance for its clients on goods entering Canada. The increased cross border trade from the Canada / United States Free Trade Agreement and the pending North American Free Trade Agreement has prompted Livingston to offer services not only in Canada, but commencing this Spring, in the U.S.A. Livingston will open offices at border points in the United States to assist in trade facilitation and U.S. Customs clearance on south bound shipments from Canada.
 "We are the first Canadian customs broker to offer this comprehensive a level of service to Canadian companies trading in the North American market," says Jeff Patterson, President & General Manager of Livingston International, Inc. the newly created U.S. division of Livingston International Inc. "For many years our Canadian based clients have been requesting the same high level of service for clearance of their shipments entering the U.S.A. These clients are taking advantage of the increased opportunities to trade in a North American market and with the opening of our U.S. offices, north-south trade facilitation will become faster and easier," he concluded.
 In December 1992, Livingston International, Inc. was granted a corporate customs brokerage license to operate in the United States by the U.S. Customs Service. When fully operational in March, staff at the offices will administer all the paperwork required to expedite shipments from Canada into the United States. The first of a series of offices will be operational in Blaine, Wash.; Port Huron and the bridge and tunnel in Detroit; and Buffalo, Niagara Falls and Champlain in New York State. "Our first requirement in servicing our extensive current Canadian client base. However, we intend to aggressively seek Canadian businesses interested in exporting into the U.S.," says Jeff Patterson.
