The tuffaceous rocks lie along the eastern flank of a cluster of six strong magnetic anomalies which are believed to represent kimberlite kimberlite: see diamond. kimberlite or blue ground Dark, heavy, often fragmented igneous rock that may contain diamonds in the rock matrix. diatremes within this confined drainage basin. The Canabrava Project is located about 400 kilometres southeast of the capital city of Brasilia. An intensive program of outcrop sampling has been initiated and to date over 100 samples of various kimberlite phases have been collected and are presently being concentrated in the Company's lab and analysed for diamond content. As a result of these discoveries the Company has applied for a further 200,000 hectares in exploration concessions to cover prospective ground to the north and to the east where a second cluster of magnetic anomalies has been defined. Stream sediment samples within this new area contain abundant diamond indicator minerals including pyrope py·rope n. A deep red garnet, Mg3Al2Si3O12, used as a gem. [Middle English pirope, from Old French, from Latin garnet and chrome diopside diopside Common silicate mineral in the pyroxene family. Diopside is a calcium and magnesium silicate (CaMgSi2O6) that occurs in metamorphosed siliceous limestones and dolomites, in skarns, and in igneous rocks. . Ground follow-up of priority magnetic targets defined in the 1994 program continues and over the past few weeks the company has discovered a further 20 kimberlite/lamproite pipes, a number of which contain pyrope garnets and eclogitic garnets. The chemistry of these minerals is being determined as part of a program to select targets which will be drilled and bulk sampled this year. To date, over 120 pipes have been discovered within the Project area. The Canabrava Project is subject to a Letter Agreement with Teck Corporation (TEK See TeX. .B-M,V,T). John G.
