 CAMPBELL SOUP'S BAUM HONORED AS MARKETING INNOVATOR
 CAMDEN, N.J., April 2 /PRNewswire/ -- Herbert M. Baum, president of


Campbell North and South America, Campbell Soup Company (NYSE: CPB), will receive the new Edison Achievement Award from the American Marketing Association tonight in New York City.
 The Edison Achievement Awards honor marketing innovators, and starting this year, AMA adds these awards to the honors the association gives for new product success during the previous year. The awards will be presented at the annual Edison dinner and ceremony at the Marriott Marquis in New York.
 Other recipients of this year's Edisons include Frank Perdue, chairman of the executive committee, Perdue Farms Inc., and a posthumous Achievement Award will go to the late Robert Woodruff, who led the Coca-Cola Company for more than 60 years.
 For the past six years some of America's most prestigious corporations have been Edison Award recipients for new product marketing excellence during the previous year," said Calvin Hodock, chairman of the Edison Award Steering Committee and past chairman of AMA.
 "These Edison Achievement Award winners have shown that innovation is not dead," he said. "Their deeds are inspirational to us as we move through the marketing trenches of foreign competition and fierce competition within this country."
 Under Baum's leadership, Campbell has been widely recognized as aggressive innovators of new products. In the flagship soup business, Campbell's new Cream of Broccoli soup was the most successful new soup introduction in 55 years. Baum joined Campbell in 1978 as associate director - new products in the canned foods division, and since then he moved up to key marketing and management posts in recognition of his abilities.
