CAMPBELL HALL DEFEATS CRESPI.

Byline: Anel Laj Daily News Staff Writer

Two volleyball powerhouses battled with pride and heart Tuesday night, but it was Campbell Hall Campbell Hall can refer to:

  • Campbell Hall School in North Hollywood, California
that rallied for a 15-12, 14-16, 15-11, 16-14 victory over Crespi in a nonleague match at Campbell Hall.

The Vikings (13-1), who are ranked No. 3 by the Daily News, fought their way back from a 6-0 deficit in game 3. With top hitter Larry Cole Larry Rudolph Cole (born November 15, 1946 in Clarkfield, Minnesota) is a former American football defensive lineman in the NFL who played his entire professional career with the Dallas Cowboys. He played in five Super Bowls, winning Super Bowl VI and XII.  out for the season because of a heart virus, the Vikings turned to junior outside hitter Jon Drexler, who registered 18 kills.

``We just believed in ourselves and we believed in the rest of our team,'' said Drexler. ``We did it for ourselves and we did it for Larry, who couldn't be with us tonight.''

Drexler's passing in the back row, aggressiveness in the front row and consistency at the service line gave the Vikings the extra push they needed. More of the Vikings' offense came from Patrick Phelps and Jeff Erb, who posted 14 kills apiece. Setter setter: see sporting dog.

One of the key elements that kept the Vikings in the game was their composure com·po·sure

and ability to stay focused. Campbell Hall was able to turn the momentum around in game four and quickly erase a 9-4 Crespi lead. ``Our kids played with heart. Just because they were missing a player, they weren't about to let that affect them.'' said Campbell Hall head coach Tim Jensen Tim Jensen is a long-time collaborator with anime soundtrack producer/composer Yoko Kanno and her group The Seatbelts. ``The supporting cast around (Cole) is what has really carried us through this year.'' The Celts The following pages provide lists of nations or people of Celtic origin, arranged by branch of Celtic ethnicity or language grouping:

were led by Marcin Jagoda, who had 14 kills and six blocks, Taylor Steadman (13 kills, four blocks) and James Spratt (12 kills, five blocks). But Crespi made careless passing errors at crucial times.

``We came out pretty good in games 3 and 4, but we started slacking off a bit,'' said Steadman. ``That's been our major problem. We sit on a lead and we start slacking off.

``We just got to keep pumped up. We cannot question our confidence.''

Both schools will be heading into the playoffs as top seeds.

Crespi took home the Mission League title and Campbell Hall took its third Alpha League title. There is a great possibility that both teams will face off once more in the Southern Section Division III
