CAMPAIGN BRIEFS : SINGER, SHELTON SET CAMPAIGN KICKOFF.LANCASTER - City Council members Michael Singer and Deborah Shelton will kick off their campaigns for the April 14 municipal election with an open house and rally on Saturday. Citizens can drop in between 2 and 6 p.m. at the home of Milt and Marilyn Huckaby, 43718 Lively Ave. A short presentation will take place about 3:30 p.m. Singer is running for mayor. Shelton is running for re-election to her council seat. - Daily News Candidates backed for seats on council LANCASTER - Four candidates in the April 14 City Council election have received endorsements from a conservative Republican group. The Antelope Valley Republican Assembly endorsed Mayor Frank Roberts for re-election, Vice Mayor Henry Hearns and probation officer Michelle Idleman for the four-year terms on the council, and Lancaster School District trustee Andy Visokey for the two-year term. - Daily News Visokey receives 3 endorsements LANCASTER - City Council candidate Andy Visokey announced he has been endorsed by Assemblyman George Runner and by the Los Angeles County Professional Peace Officers Association and the Association of Los Angeles Deputy Sheriffs. Visokey, a Lancaster School District trustee, is running for a two-year term in the April 14 City Council election. ``Andy Visokey has the experience and personal integrity to make a great city councilman,'' Runner said. ``The city of Lancaster needs leaders who have a vision and a plan. Andy is that kind of leader.'' ALADS ALADS - Association for Los Angeles Deputy Sheriffs represents Los Angeles County sheriff's deputies.
