EL SEGUNDO El Segundo (ĕl sēgŭn`dō), industrial city (1990 pop. 15,223), Los Angeles co., S Calif., on Santa Monica Bay; inc. 1917. Its products include navigation and computer systems, aircraft parts, office machines, telephone apparatus, and  - This was supposed to be Michael Cammalleri's season, his chance to break out. But so far, Cammalleri has watched more games than he has played for the Kings.

A healthy scratch for two of the Kings' three games, Cammalleri appeared visibly frustrated when the topic was brought up Monday. It didn't seem to mean much that coach Andy Murray has explained Cammalleri's absence by saying that it's more of a matchup issue than a dissatisfaction with Cammalleri's play.

Asked if Murray had explained the situation well, Cammalleri said, ``I don't know Don't know (DK, DKed)

Cammalleri calmly and politely spoke about his situation. Murray said Cammalleri didn't play Thursday because the coach wanted a more physical lineup. Murray said Cammalleri didn't play Sunday because the Kings thought it would be better to dress seven defensemen.

Murray wouldn't tip his hand about tonight's game, other than to say that he was again considering playing seven defensemen.

Murray explained that Cammalleri sat in part because he is not a strong penalty killer penalty killer

``It looked like the thing to do,'' Murray said of switching to LaBarbera, who made 27 saves in a 3-2 victory Thursday. ``We reserve the right to change at any time.''

Murray said he would wait until Wednesday to name a starter for Thursday's game.
