CAMARILLO SOFTBALL COACH CALLS IT QUITS : VICTORIA HIRED AT OREGON STATE.Byline: Vincent Bonsignore Daily News Staff Writer Nichole Victoria, who guided the Camarillo High School softball softball, variant of baseball played with a larger ball on a smaller field. Victoria, a Camarillo graduate who was a star softball player at UCLA UCLA University of California at Los Angeles UCLA University Center for Learning Assistance (Illinois State University) UCLA University of Carrollton, TX and Lower Addison, TX , accepted the job last week. She'll work under Oregon State head coach Kirk Walker, who was an assistant at UCLA when Victoria played there. ``This is a great opportunity for me,'' said Victoria, who had indicated when she first took the Scorpions coaching job that she wanted to eventually coach at the college level. ``This is a good step for me.'' Victoria, 24, succeeded Darwin Tolzin last year at Camarillo. Tolzin was forced to step down late in the 1995 season after violating Southern Section rules that prohibit pro·hib·it tr.v. pro·hib·it·ed, pro·hib·it·ing, pro·hib·its 1. Victoria doesn't know who the next Camarillo coach will be, but she hopes the job will go to Miki Mangan, her assistant coach. ``That would be my choice,'' Victoria said. ``The girls are comfortable with her and I think she'd do a great job.''
