Camarillo, which has won four Pacific View League titles, went 17-0 in regular-season play this year, then qualified for its first CIF/WSCGA berth by finishing fourth in the Southern Section team final with just one senior in its starting lineup For the line of action figures, see .

Granada Hills, a winner of back-to-back City Section team titles in its first two seasons of girls' golf, has modest but realistic goals Tuesday: The Highlanders would like to finish ahead of at least one team from another section after placing last in their first attempt in the competition among Southern, Central, City and San Diego San Diego (săn dēā`gō), city (1990 pop. 1,110,549), seat of San Diego co., S Calif., on San Diego Bay; inc. 1850. Thompson will be relying heavily on his underclass duo of sophomore Alyson Golditch and junior Lucy Davies, the best 1-2 combination in the City ranks this season. Golditch won nearly every match and the Valley 1 League championship for the 12-1 Highlanders, while Davies kept getting better throughout this, her first season of golf. After breaking 90 for the first time three weeks ago in the league championship, Davies dipped to 79 to take third place in the City championship.

Davies gets to work on both in every practice with teammate Golditch, a two-time league champion, and Thompson believes both benefit from the opportunity.

``She pushes Alyson,'' he said, ``and Alyson's pretty tough - she wants to stay on top. It's real good for both of them.''

Chatsworth, led by freshman Gloria Park, also qualified for the CIF/WSCGA competition by finishing second in the City championship, where Park placed seventh at 84.

All of the players from the Camarillo, Chatsworth and Granada Hills teams also are eligible for individual honors at the CIF/WSCGA event, which has another eight area golfers qualified as individuals.
