Ronald Lawrence Wilson said of his team members. ''On Friday they came out with an intense practice which is unusual for a day for a tournament.'' Ron Peterson easily won his title match 6-0 and Rick Peterson picked up just his second loss of the season. Rick Peterson, however, matched up evenly with Rio Mesa's Jessie Bautista. Bautista was fifth at last year's State Championships but Peterson pushed him until the final seconds before being edged out 11-10. ''The overall team effort was excellent,'' Wilson said. ''This isn't what I expected. I knew we were going to have our hands full. Rick, he was down and he never quit.'' CAPTION(S): PHOTO Photo Tim Bonebright Wins 152-pound title |
