CAMACHO: TO QB OR NOT TO QB STANDOUT'S RETURN SPARKS EAGLE ROCK.Byline: Alex Valladares Special to the Daily News EAGLE ROCK - Jeremy Camacho is living a dream this week, preparing to lead Eagle Rock High's football team in a championship game at the Coliseum Coliseum: see Colosseum. . The Eagles (11-2), primarily on the strength of Camacho's arm, have won eight successive games en route to the City Invitational in·vi·ta·tion·al adj. Camacho, a senior who has completed nearly 64 percent of his passes for for 2,519 yards and 28 touchdowns - with only eight interceptions in 247 attempts - nearly missed all of it. Receiving All-City recognition as a junior after leading Eagle Rock to its first league title in 12 years, Camacho informed the coaching staff he would not return for his senior season. ``During the spring, football was the last thing on my mind,'' he said. ``I was mentally tired of everything that was going on at the time. Camacho saw no action in the first two games. ``We told him that he would have to take a back seat after being the driver of this vehicle the past two years,'' Chou said. ``He handled it perfectly, with a lot grace. He did everything we asked of him. He never missed practice. He was very supportive of Aaron (Frescas, the starter).'' Said Camacho: ``I learned that my actions had consequences. ... I knew I had to prove to (the coaches) that they didn't make a mistake by allowing me back on the team.''
