Forest Lawn is a generic name for many cemeteries in the United States. The majority of these are old, elaborate cemeteries that historically had a secondary use as a public park:

The state Department of Transportation will try to minimize the inconvenience to motorists while erecting the soundwalls, which help ``improve the quality of life ... for any residents who live along the freeways,'' agency spokeswoman Jeanne Bonfilio said.

Work is expected to be completed by early summer on a $6.8 million project to erect soundwalls from Clybourn Avenue to Camarillo Street. Additionally, preliminary work has begun on a $3.8 million soundwall between Forest Lawn Drive and Buena Vista Street.

On-ramps may be closed weekdays between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., and overnight, from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. Weekend work is also planned.

One or two lanes of the westbound freeway will also be closed during those times, according to according to

Construction work will force the closure of horse tunnel No. 7, used by riders to get to and from Griffith Park Griffith Park is a large public park at the eastern end of the Santa Monica Mountains. It is situated in the Los Feliz neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. The park covers 4,210 acres (17 km²) of land, making it one of the largest urban parks in North America. , for the next 30 days, officials said.
