CALTRANS TO EXAMINE CLOSURE OF OFF-RAMP.

At the urging of the Los Angeles City Council The Los Angeles City Council is the governing body of the City of Los Angeles, California, United States. , traffic engineers will study whether closing the Haskell Avenue off-ramp on the Ventura Freeway The Ventura Freeway is a freeway in southern California running from Ventura to Pasadena. It is the principal east-west route through Ventura County and in the southern San Fernando Valley in Los Angeles County.  would improve traffic safety.

The Caltrans study will look at environmental and traffic impacts of a temporary closure of six to 12 months, said Councilwoman Cindy Miscikowski's senior deputy, Lisa Levy.

Caltrans also would look at alternatives to closure, such as partially blocking access to the ramp by allowing only drivers coming from the southbound south·bound
