CALTRANS TO CLOSE MILES OF FREEWAYS FOR REPAIRS.

NEWHALL - Caltrans crews will shut down southbound Interstate 5 overnight tonight and Saturday through the Newhall Pass Newhall Pass is a mountain pass in Los Angeles County, California, USA. Historically called San Fernando Pass and Fremont Pass, it separates the Santa Susana Mountains from the San Gabriel Mountains.  for road work.

All four lanes will be closed from midnight today to 6 a.m. Saturday and from 11 p.m. Saturday to 7 a.m. Sunday for bridge maintenance. The closure is planned from Weldon Canyon Weldon Canyon is a canyon in Los Angeles County, California, United States, through which Interstate 5 passes. The Old Road, now paralleled by I-5, opened on May 28, 1930 through the canyon as a bypass of the 1910 Newhall Tunnel.  Road to Balboa Boulevard.
