CALM DOWN BHOYS; CHAMPIONS LEAGUE CRUNCH.

Byline: Hugh Keevins

TONY MOWBRAY Tony Mowbray, (born November 22 1963), is a former professional football player and the manager of West Bromwich Albion. Playing career
Mowbray played for Middlesbrough, Celtic, and finally Ipswich Town as a tough centre half.
insists he will have to calm his players down - not fire them up - for tonight's Champions League crunch in Russia.

Mogga vows Celtic will be 100 per cent ready for Dynamo Moscow Dynamo Moscow may refer to one of the following Dinamo sports clubs in Moscow. In Soviet time all of them were parts of the All-Union Dinamo sports society.
  • FC Dynamo Moscow, a football club
  • HC Dynamo Moscow, an ice hockey club
but swears the task of clawing back the 1-0 deficit from the first leg will be impossible if his men lose their discipline.

Celtic are taking on history by trying to win on foreign soil for the first time in six years in the competition.

But Mogga is adamant there is no need for him to turn into the Winston Churchill of the dressing room in order to coax a performance out of his team. Last night he said: "There are some speeches a manager can make that are right for the moment.

"But this time there's a need to calm my team down. I don't want them over-hyped.

"The best teams are the most disciplined and we have to position ourselves in such a way that we're able to control this game. I have to add discipline to natural ability.

"It gave me pleasure to show we could compete in the first leg against Dynamo.

"I accept Celtic and Rangers have to do what they can to push back the boundaries for Scottish sides in Europe but if we're beaten we have to get on with it. If we do not get into the Champions League this year it will have to be next year."

over the task ahead of his players in the Arena Khimki.

He said: "I cannot get influenced by other people's opinions on how we got on in the first leg .

"There was negativity about the place but whatever happens now, we won't fail for the lack of effort."

The manager insists he will decide his line-up after he has assessed the reaction to last night's training session in the Arena Khimki.

That means he will focus on how Scott Brown Scott Brown may refer to:

Mowbray added: "It's my call to decide if Scott is mentally and physically ready for this match.

"I have a responsibility to look after the rest of the player's career.

"It's not up to me to pick George Burley's team but Scott might have a massive part to play for Scotland against Norway in the World Cup qualifier in Oslo next week.

"Meanwhile, this is all about the next game for me and Celtic. I have to keep that picture in mind."
