CALLISON ARCHITECTURE CHOSEN TO MASTER PLAN, DESIGN NEW WELLPOINT HEALTH NETWORKS FACILITIES; Camarillo Campus first phase will include seven new buildings, opens in 1997.

SEATTLE--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 22, 1995--The master plan has been completed and architectural design has begun on Wellpoint Health Networks' new 62-acre Camarillo, Calif., campus facility, it was announced today by project designers Callison Architecture.

Although actual construction will only proceed to meet business growth, the facility in Ventura County could ultimately provide 1.44 million square feet of office space. The first phase, incorporating seven new buildings and 700,000 square feet, will break ground in the spring of 1996 and will be completed in early 1997.

Buildings on the campus will be built at the core of the site and will use mission-style street elements such as trellis walkways, benches and lighting to provide a sensitive edge to the development and lower the scale of the project for pedestrians.

Callison, an international design firm based in Seattle, was founded in 1975 and is the fourth-largest architectural design firm in the United States with a staff of more than 300. The firm provides a broad range of architectural, interior and graphic design services to business leaders worldwide.
