AIRLINES could be forced to warn passengers their health is at risk every time they board a plane for even the shortest flight.

'I have had three DVTs now,' she said. 'Two of them were from short-haul destinations, Portugal and Crete, and the other was from flying to Pakistan.

'Airlines should be giving all passengers health advice, even on trips to Europe.

'JMC airlines showed exercises on an in-flight video on the way to Portugal which was excellent. '

Other long-haul carriers also offered advice but Miss Lynne wants to see all airlines give health briefings before take-off for even the closest destinations.

She is due to make the demands on Tuesday when the European Parliament meets in Strasbourg for its first session after the summer recess.

She will also campaign for disabled passengers to be given equal access to flights.
