Caligari Corporation, a pioneer provider of 3D multimedia authoring technologies, and CADopia, provider of IntelliCAD(R) software, have signed a licensing agreement whereby CADopia will offer a custom version of Caligari's trueSpace(TM) 3D modeling program for IntelliCAD users. The combination of trueSpace and IntelliCAD gives the design and manufacturing markets a set of tools that work together with common file formats to provide precision engineering, advanced modeling, rapid design and concept generation, powerful rendering, and strong animation capabilities.

trueSpace for IntelliCAD is an affordable and powerful conceptual design tool, with an intuitive user interface that allows for real-time direct manipulation in a hardware-accelerated, integrated, 3D perspective workspace. The program offers advanced photorealistic rendering, animation, and modeling tools, and supports import and export of CAD/CAM industry standard IGES, SAT and STL formats.

* Fully integrated visual asset libraries with universal Drag-&-Drop. Any element in a project, including a 2D or 3D objects, lights, materials, image, scene, collection of tools, configurations, etc. is represented by its preview image in the library and launched with a click. Use Image Browser to drag your visual assets into the scene or asset libraries, then simply drag materials from the library onto any object.

* Customize your current working configuration with any set of views, floating toolbars and individual tools, then simply drag your current configuration into a library, for future use.

* Context Based Editing in trueSpace for IntelliCAD is simple and straightforward -- you only see the tools applicable in the current context. By right clicking on a selected object you can perform editing operations relevant for that object. Each window is completely resizable and traditional 4-views are available.

* Manipulate Geometry Easily using the Magic Ring widget to draw parameterized 2D and 3D primitive shapes interactively in your workspace. The selector cage allows direct manipulation of your objects placement, orientation and scale. The Draw Panel allows you to perform any 2D operation with its own mini window inside your 3D workspace. Tri-View Panel extends the Draw Panel into the 3rd dimension so you can draw your profiles, rails and cross sections in the same visual context where you drew the original curve. You can also trace images for advanced interactive skinning in all three orthogonal planes at once. While in this mode, you have full access to the construction history of edited objects.

* Real Time Implementation of Subdivision Surfaces provides total control of smooth organic surfaces.

* Powerful Generalized Primitives provide an unlimited number of basic and custom starting shapes for creating design concepts.

* Precise object placement. In addition to grids, collision detection and the magnetic tool, trueSpace for IntelliCAD includes a full complement of snapping tools such as snap to vertex, grid, edge or face.
