COSTA MESA, Calif., Oct. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- A multimillion dollar collection of the world's most rare and treasured timepieces will arrive in California Saturday, when Tourneau hosts its Grand Opening celebration on Saturday, Oct. 9, at South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa. For this special occasion, Tourneau, one of the world's largest retailers of fine Swiss watches, will showcase this once-in-a-lifetime collection on beautiful California models at an event to honor two arts organizations, Opera Pacific and the Orange County Philharmonic Society.
These rare timepieces will include the "Aura" by Piaget, valued at $1 million, Blancpain's "Platinum Masterpiece Collection" representing the six masterpieces in the art of watchmaking; Vacheron Constantin's platinum "minute Repeater w/Perpetual Calendar," valued at $355,000 and "Kalla," valued at $500,000; Corum's "Peary Meteorite," fashioned from fragments of a meteor found by the noted explorer; and other examples of the world's costliest and most complicated watches. Brought by watchmakers from Switzerland and their United States representatives, this assemblage of timepieces will be the most valuable collection ever presented for viewing.
Virtually every fine Swiss watchmaker will be represented in the collection, including such esteemed names as Piaget, Audemars Piguet, Breguet, Blancpain, Vacheron Constantin, Jaeger LeCoultre, Cartier, Concord, Corum, Ebel, Rolex, Patek Philippe, and others.
