Bear Mountain was rated first among Southern California ski resorts by Ski magazine in its 1996 resort survey. One of the high points there for advanced skiers and snowboarders alike are Bow, Deer and Goldmine canyons. These areas are for off-trail natural-terrain skiing and snowboarding.
