CALIFORNIA ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS(R) Scholarship Foundation Awards Scholarships to Eight College Students.


LOS ANGELES Los Angeles (lôs ăn`jələs, lŏs, ăn`jəlēz'), city (1990 pop. 3,485,398), seat of Los Angeles co., S Calif.; inc. 1850.  -- The CALIFORNIA California (kăl'ĭfôr`nyə), most populous state in the United States, located in the Far West; bordered by Oregon (N), Nevada and, across the Colorado River, Arizona (E), Mexico (S), and the Pacific Ocean (W).  ASSOCIATION OF REALTORS[R] Scholarship Foundation recently awarded eight scholarships to college students planning careers in real estate. The scholarships were awarded at the Association's board of directors meetings in Monterey Monterey (mŏntərā`), city (1990 pop. 31,954), Monterey co., W Calif., a port on Monterey Bay; founded 1770, inc. 1850. It is a popular resort, the home of many artists and writers, and one of California's oldest cities. , Calif.

"To be eligible for a scholarship, recipients must be enrolled in at least one real estate or real estate-related course and have completed a minimum of two real estate or real estate-related college-level courses. We are pleased that scholarships were awarded to recipients from across the state, all of whom have demonstrated a serious commitment to a career in real estate."

Scholarships awarded by the C.A.R. Scholarship Foundation address C.A.R.'s goal of bringing new professionals into the real estate industry and training them with the skills required to effectively meet the needs of future homeowners in California. Scholarships are awarded three times annually, during C.A.R. board of directors meetings in January and June and at the annual CALIFORNIA REALTOR Realtor
