The matchups (7:30 p.m. kickoff) are Palmdale at Lancaster, Quartz Hill at Antelope Valley and Highland at Littlerock.

Student athletes at Whittier College are known today as the Poets in his honor.  at 7:30 p.m.

In girls' volleyball, Littlerock looks to rebound from its loss last week to Highland. The Lobos meet visiting Lancaster today at 3 p.m. and host Palmdale Thursday at 5:30 p.m.

Lancaster and Quartz Hill square off in a key Golden League girls' tennis matchup Thursday at Quartz Hill.

Several of the area's top prep cross country squads compete in Saturday's Santa Clarita Santa Clarita, city (1990 pop. 110,642), Los Angeles co., S Calif., suburb 30 mi (48 km) NW of downtown Los Angeles, on the Santa Clara River; inc. 1987. Situated in the Santa Clara valley and nearby canyons, Santa Clarita includes the former towns of Canyon Country,  Invitational at College of the Canyons College of the Canyons is one of the fastest-growing community colleges in the state. According to the National Junior College Research Association, College of the Canyons consistently ranks in the top 50 community colleges in the nation.  at 8 a.m. Paraclete, Quartz Hill, Lancaster, Desert Christian, and Littlerock are among the participants.
