Ishmael Wadada Leo Smith (18 December 1941 in Leland, Mississippi) is a trumpeter and composer working primarily in the fields of avant-garde jazz and free improvisation. and pianist David Rosenboom. The program will include Jenkins' music for solo violin and electric violin, and the world premiere of a new piece for violin, trumpet and piano. The CalArts Balinese Music and Dance Ensembles will perform at 8 p.m. March 20 in the Walt Disney Modular Theatre.
