CALARTS GRADUATES AMONG THOSE NOMINATED FOR ACADEMY AWARDS.

 editing for his work on ``The Matrix.''

With a small team of sound editors at his company, Danetracks, Davis was the sound designer and supervising sound editor for the hit movie which stars Keanu Reeves. He is now editing the sound for two feature films, ``Romeo Must Die'' and ``The Red Planet,'' and plans to start work on two sequels to ``The Matrix'' next summer.

CalArts alumnus ALUMNUS, civil law. A child which one has nursed; a foster child. Dig. 40, 2, 14.  Henry F. Anderson and three colleagues were nominated for best visual effects for their artistry in the movie ``Stuart Little.'' His work on the film required making the main character, a mouse, come to life, which was accomplished through painstaking digital animation.

Anderson has taught animation classes at CalArts, and has given talks and presentations about digital character animation Character animation is a specialized process of the animation process, concerning the animation of one or more characters featured in an animated work. It is usually as one aspect of a larger production, and often to complement voice acting.  all over the world.

In the best documentary short subject category, 1983 graduate Simeon Soffer was nominated for his 30-minute ``The Wildest Show in the South: The Angola Prison Rodeo.''

``Wildest Show'' was also recently screened at the Sundance Film Festival and was very well received by audiences there.
