CALABASAS' RIGHT MIX?

Byline: Lauren Gustus Staff Writer

The Calabasas High boys' tennis team is fractured Fractured is the Industrial Music band created by Canadian Nick Gorman in 2003. Located in Toronto Canada, his self produced release CD-R demo entitled Contami-Nation caught the attention of European label Dependent Records, who signed them.  - split right down the middle like the T-line that divides the ad side from the deuce side of the court.

The split, though, isn't anyone's fault. It was inevitable, and the Coyotes are doing all they can to close the gap as soon as possible.

The problem is in Calabasas' lineup A criminal investigation technique in which the police arrange a number of individuals in a row before a witness to a crime and ask the witness to identify which, if any, of the individuals committed the crime. .

Three seniors hold the top three singles positions while talented underclassmen fill the doubles spots. The seniors have a sense of perspective, of tradition, of Calabasas' upset loss early in the playoffs last season. The sophomores and freshman bring an unaffected confidence, for which the seniors are grateful, but no sense of history.

``I'm thrilled to have them,'' senior Andy Rebhun said. ``I can't believe how lucky we were to get the freshman and the transfers.''

The trick will be getting everyone to mesh in time for the postseason.

Calabasas (5-1) is shooting for a Southern Section title, but its first loss of the season reminded the team there is still much work to do. They fell to Harvard-Westlake of Studio City 15-3.

``We had a long talk after the match,'' Rebhun said. ``Our heads were a lot bigger than we thought, and we just didn't come out to play.''

Alan Lee and Jake Smith are the Coyotes' other two singles players, and this is it for them and Rebhun.

``We're not going to make an early exit this year,'' Smith said. ``We don't want to lose it in our last year.''

Rebhun said the loss to Harvard-Westlake might have been good for the Coyotes, a sort of early wake-up call. The younger players got a good look at what they'll see in the postseason.

Calabasas could have used junior Gary Sacks, Smith and Rebhun said, but both were confident the team, though without its star from last season, is deeper this year.
