A wiser, more worldly Robert Fick Robert Charles Fick (born March 15, 1974 in Torrance, California) is a Major League Baseball player for the Washington Nationals.

Hinch, who is considered all but immortal here.

``I should have known better,'' he said. ``I'm just so competitive. I'll keep my mouth shut from now on.''

Alluding to his Olympic team tryout later this month, Fick said, ``I hope (Hinch) doesn't think I'm a (jerk). Hopefully we're going to be playing on the same team.''
