CAL LEAGUE: JETHAWKS STAY IN FIRST DESPITE LOPSIDED DEFEAT HIGH DESERT 11, JETHAWKS 2.

LANCASTER - Chris Kinsey pitched a quality start, and the JetHawks are still in first place.

Those were about the only positives the JetHawks could take from Thursday's 11-2 loss to the High Desert Mavericks The High Desert Mavericks are a minor league baseball team in Adelanto, California, USA. Their Major League parent club is the Seattle Mariners. They are a "high-A" class team in the California League, and had been a farm team of the Kansas City Royals since 2005 before the switch.  in front of 1,133 at Clear Channel Stadium.

Lancaster (30-25) nevertheless remained on top in the California League's Southern Division, a half-game ahead of Lake Elsinore (28-24), which lost 13-3 to Modesto.

Kinsey (3-7) had a solid start that was especially impressive considering the adverse pitching conditions on a windy night in Lancaster. He allowed three runs - two earned - on seven hits in six innings.
