LANCASTER - The JetHawks' wild-card berth was left to outside forces Wednesday.

That turned out to be a good thing from their standpoint, as they clinched a playoff berth despite an especially poor showing in a 10-2 loss to Inland Empire In·land Empire

Wladimir Balentien Wladimir Ramon Balentien (born July 2, 1984 in Willemstad, Netherlands Antilles) is a major league baseball right fielder for the Seattle Mariners. Balentien was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Mariners in 2000.  homered twice for Inland Empire - his 24th and 25th of the season. He hit a two-run homer to left off JetHawks starter Jon Castellanos (9-3) in the first, and a three-run shot to right in the sixth off reliever Sam Smith.

Danny Richar Danny Adam Richar (born June 9, 1983 in La Romana, Dominican Republic) is a Major League Baseball second baseman who plays for the Chicago White Sox.

Richar originally signed as an undrafted free agent with the Arizona Diamondbacks on July 9, 2001.
 broke the shutout with a solo homer in the ninth - his 18th of the season for Lancaster (34-31 in the second half, 71-64 overall) .
