LANCASTER - High Desert's Adam Donachie knew he had to make a change after going 0 for 4 Saturday night against the JetHawks.

So he spent the day in the batting cage Noun 1. batting cage - a movable screen placed behind home base to catch balls during batting practice

 with Mavericks hitting coach Boots Day, working on keeping his weight back longer when he swung.

Donachie's work paid off Sunday night Sunday Night, later named Michelob Presents Night Music, was an NBC late-night television show which aired for two seasons between 1988 and 1990 as a showcase for jazz and eclectic musical artists.  - he hit two home runs to lead High Desert (10-7) to a 7-6 win over the JetHawks (5-12) in front of 5,718 at Clear Channel Stadium.

Donachie, the Mavericks' No. 9 hitter, was 4 for 4 with three RBIs. He had a single and double in addition to his home runs and called it the best game in his more than three years of professional baseball.

 pitches led to Donachie's home runs. He hit a high changeup to right field for his first home run, a solo shot in the top of the third inning. He pulled a fastball down the middle of the plate for a two-run homer in the top of the seventh to erase a 3-1 JetHawks lead.

Chico surrendered three runs in 6 2/3 innings.

Jesus Silva, who replaced Chico one batter after Donachie's second homer, gave up two more home runs in the top of the eighth. The Mavericks' Billy Butler led off the inning with his 22nd homer of the year. Alan Moye hit a three-run shot three batters later to give High Desert a 7-3 lead.

The JetHawks almost rallied. Stephen Drew Stephen Oris Drew (born March 16 1983 in Valdosta, Georgia) is a shortstop in major league baseball who plays for the Arizona Diamondbacks.

Drew was selected for the 2006 All-Star Futures Game.

He is the younger brother of Red Sox outfielder J.D.
 came to the plate with the bases loaded and no outs in the bottom of the eighth inning.

His groundout to second scored Danny Richar Danny Adam Richar (born June 9, 1983 in La Romana, Dominican Republic) is a Major League Baseball second baseman who plays for the Chicago White Sox.

Richar originally signed as an undrafted free agent with the Arizona Diamondbacks on July 9, 2001.

 followed with a groundball that brought home two more runs, by Erik Schindewolf and Steve Garrabrants. High Desert shortstop Angel Sanchez tried to backhand the ball, which deflected off the heel of his glove and into shallow left field.

Lancaster's Jeff Cook came to the plate with the tying run, Carter, on second.

High Desert reliever Chris Demaria got Cook, the first batter he faced, to pop out to the catcher to end the inning.

Demaria gave up a one-out double in the ninth inning to Brian Rose, then retired the next two hitters to secure the victory.

High Desert finished with 15 hits Sunday and 42 in the three-game series.
