JetHawks starter Matt Chico Matthew Bryan "Matt" Chico (born June 10, 1983 in Fullerton, California) is a left-handed starting pitcher for the Washington Nationals of Major League Baseball. A graduate of Fallbrook Union High School, Chico attended Palomar College and was selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks  allowed two runs, six hits and struck out seven batters in seven-plus innings, but after leaving in the eighth, host Modesto (4-1) scored seven runs off the bullpen for a 9-3 win on Saturday night.

Right after Chico left the mound with a 3-2, Billy Biggs allowed four runs on three hits, Ruben Kerbs allowed one and Dustin Glant gave up two more to spoil Chico's effort and drop the JetHawks to 0-5 in California League's second-half play.
