CAKE MIX IMPROVES WITH PERSONAL TOUCH.

Byline: Nancy Byal Special to the Daily News

Personalizing cakes to fit any occasion or taste is no trouble at all, especially when you start with a two-layer yellow, white or chocolate cake mix. Using these flavoring ideas, you can create a cake from a mix that will be special enough for company. Just choose one of the following additions.

Spiced is nice:

To spice up cakes, add any of these options to the dry cake mix: 3/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon, 3/4 teaspoon ground ginger, 1/2 teaspoon ground allspice allspice: see pimento.
