Incorporated on Dec. 7, 1899, the club has had four homes before settling into its current clubhouse at 15 W.
, in Manhattan. The event is expected to be a premier networking opportunity, and will provide the alternative investment community with information on how they can further their education and achieve a worldwide, uniform designation in alternative investments.

The organization also announced that its October 26 New York event is fully-booked. More than 100 professionals from hedge funds hedge fund, in finance, a highly speculative, largely unregulated investment device. Originating in the 1950s, the funds "hedge" by offsetting "short" positions (borrowing a security and then selling it at a higher price before repaying the lender) against "long" , private equity funds, pension funds, and banks have confirmed attendance to the event, scheduled for the Grand Hyatt.

At the November 10 meeting, CAIAA's executive director, Craig Asche, will make a presentation on the significance of a CAIA designation and discuss the driving forces behind the organization's rapid worldwide growth. Following the presentation, there will be a networking event.

"As hedge funds, private equity and other alternatives grow in influence and size, it's critical that industry professionals have a strong fundamental understanding of the risks and attributes specific to the various investment strategies being employed," said Craig Asche, executive director, CAIA. "We provide an enhanced understanding of the alternative space, as well as the CAIA designation, which offers significant career opportunities to recipients."

CAIAA CAIAA Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Association  has chapters in New York, London, Zurich, Singapore, and Toronto, and anticipates opening additional chapters in 2007.

Expected attendees at the November 10 event will include individuals who have recently taken the September exam, executives seeking to learn more about the CAIA designation on behalf of their companies, and other members of the alternative investment community interested in learning more about certification and ongoing education.
