The new division will include eLogic, the recently purchased Web content management company plus all of Cahners' Internet activities, including the vertical portals A Web site that provides news, articles and services to a particular industry such as IT, finance and retail. It is the industry-specific equivalent of the general-purpose portal on the Web. Also called a "vortal." Research, a subsidiary of Rochester Institute of Technology, will produce an educational "summit conference" on e-commerce for the graphic communications industries in the spring of 2001. The conference, which will include both commercial printers and print buyers, will be held in two separate sessions. The first conference will take place on the West Coast in February 2001 with the second on the East Coast in May. Course material is being prepared by RIT Research.
