CAE Process Technologies Acquisition Further Strengthens Hyprotech's Suite of Products and Services.

CALGARY, Alberta--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 4, 1998--AEA Technology,one of the world's leading innovation businesses, announces the acquisition of Houston-based CAE Process Technologies, a supplier of high quality, high fidelity operator training software for the process industries.

The acquisition has been made via AEA Technology's Hyprotech Inc. subsidiary in Houston. This is the fourth acquisition that AEA Technology has made in the engineering software market during the past fifteen months and is a further step towards growing its world-wide software business.

CAE Process Technologies' training software and the company's ability to deliver a complete training package relies on Hyprotech's HYSYS(TM) process simulation software. The two companies already have an alliance that has enabled them to offer their customers integrated training systems and improve plant operation and financial performance. By integrating CAE Process Technologies into Hyprotech and by combining this expertise with other AEA Technology software, the Group can offer its customers the ability to improve training, plant design and operation within a single software suite that is quick and easy to use.
