CAD files: key to success in property management.

Managing properties today has become more complex than ever before. The demands of owners/ investors to keep their buildings leased and running cost effectively are a daily focus for everyone involved. There are many tools now available to support the management team with their day to day management responsibilities. The foundation to this is having accurate CAD files and associated area calculations.

These files will be the basis of determining the: Correct rentable square footage; Marketing rental plans; Fire safety plans; Plan Books; Space planning.

If CAD plans exist they should be verified to make sure they are in accordance with the method of measurement in NYC.

If plans don't exist using base building drawings field techs need to conduct surveys to create them. At RDM we use lasers that are faster and more accurate than tape measures.

Once these plans are in place Plan Books should be created that can details on the building, occupancy information, tenant contact information, color coded stack diagrams, and all floor plans. We are not architects; therefore our services and fee structure are focused on supporting management.
