ARLINGTON, Va., Dec. 6 /PRNewswire/ -- CACI International Inc (Nasdaq: CACI) today announced that its business in developing, implementing, and maintaining motor vehicle information systems is rapidly expanding and a top area targeted for growth. The company provides a wide range of technology solutions for state motor vehicle departments, and its business in this market was a contributing factor in the dramatic 129 percent increase, over the same period last year, in state and local revenue reported in CACI's first quarter results, released October 21.

Since the 1998 reauthorization of the Intermodal Surface Transportation Efficiency Act, increased federal funding has been available to support federal mandates for improved state motor vehicle systems. This has aided state department of motor vehicle (DMV) efforts to modernize existing systems or develop new ones. These systems support driver's licensing, registration of commercial and non-commercial vehicles, payment of vehicle-related taxes, and more.
