The unique offer allows Cablevision customers to pay just $24.95 to view De La Hoya vs. Gonzalez, a savings of $10 or 29 percent off the suggested retail price for the event.

"Cablevision is committed to finding creative ways to maximize customer value," said James L. Dolan, chief executive officer of Cablevision, whose $9.95 per-round offer for the November 1996 Tyson-Holyfield fight was a TV sports first. "Our goal is to ensure that customers who purchase pay-per-view fights from Cablevision are guaranteed to get their money's worth," Dolan continued.

Cablevision officials noted that the company's innovative, fixed-fee, multi-fight agreement with the promoters makes this unique value-pricing arrangement possible. Terms were not disclosed further.

TVKO will distribute the card and anticipate it will be available in 30 million pay-per-view homes. The event is presented by Top Rank, Inc., in association with Caesars Palace.
