The Company's developing new media businesses, however, had negative adjusted operating cash flow of approximately $9.3 million, net of the amortization of deferred revenue for the three months ended March 31, 1998. As of March 31, 1998, the Company served approximately 3,373,000 subscribers on a consolidated basis, reflecting acquisitions and dispositions (adding 502,000 subscribers, net) in 1998, and a gain of approximately 27,000 subscribers (.9 percent) from internal growth during the first three months of 1998. Internal subscriber growth for the twelve months ended March 31, 1998 amounted to 2.7 percent. Recurring average monthly revenue per subscriber for the consolidated Company was $41.65 in March 1998, as compared to $37.45 in March 1997 and $38.53 in December 1997.
